Benson is the Founder and President of InSite Educational Facility Services. Benson’s first involvement with schools stated 1998 working as Vice President of Development for a private preschool group overseeing site selection and real estate development. In 2004, he founded InSite as a traditional commercial brokerage firm as well as BPSDG, a California based real estate development company. In 2007, Benson had the opportunity to work with his first charter school in California. Seeing that most schools were poorly represented by either residential real estate brokers or commercial brokers with little to no experience with the complexity of school real estate projects, he formed InSite Educational Facility Services. Benson has worked in various capacities for several real estate and development companies for the past 25 years, both as a broker and a developer. His experience encompasses charter and private school development and site selection, and includes development experience in office, retail, and residential projects. His responsibilities have included land acquisition, market research, and site selection for both regional and national tenants, development and entitlement work, construction management, sales, leasing and tenant representation. Benson currently serves on the board of two charter schools.
